‘I am a twenty nine year old Mathematics teacher from Oxford, I love my job, work incredibly hard and have only forty years until I retire. I’ve decided to get on a bicycle and start riding. Now I’ve reached Canada after riding through Japan, cycled more than twenty thousand kilometers and am still going.

Arising from the lessons learned during the Tour d’Afrique 2012, the idea for the HoBootleg was born. Since then, many courageous explorers have been riding the HoBootleg to the remotest corners of the world and back. In less than two years, more than 100,000 kms of road, dirt and sand have been explored by HoBootleg adventurers, a Guinness World Record has been set, and countless, breathtaking moments witnessing the beauty of our planet have been experienced.

Seven Hills to Seven Passes #1

Almost two years ago, we received an email from two guys who were planning something extraordinary, an adventure that many dream about, but few are brave enough to pursue: quit the daily grind, and experience the world by bike. Daniele and Simona intended to cross the world and reach the seven highest passes of the earth, one for each continent, dividing East and West Europe, South and North America. Crossing more than 50 countires and covering 100,000 kilometers on two wheels, they aimed also to raise money for WBR, sharing a “green manifesto” for the bike as a vehicle toward a sustainable future, and promoting a responsible way of traveling among different cultures, ‘Seven Hills to Seven Passes’ is a multi-faceted, life-changing event that will touch lives from the highest pass in Europe to a rural village in Zambia.
